Kay Hudson: Chief Operating Officer

Kay’s career began while working for a major restaurant chain as an area supervisor. She worked in this position for 13 years, and her duties included: management, department training in Human Resources, customer relations, and employee relations. In 1996, Kay began to work with an Independent Auto Auction and moved into positions of Human Resource Manager and then as General Operations Manager. Kay’s position as GOM included supervision of Operations, Detail Shop, Mechanic Shop and outside vendors. After a successful period, as General Operations Manager, she accepted the position of Fleet/Lease Manager. After 12 years with the auction, Kay joined the CARS team in July of 2008 as the HR Director. In 2012, Kay was promoted to VP of Operations, where she directed the day-to-day operations of the 30 plus locations across the country. In August 2014, Kay was then promoted to Chief Operating Officer of CARS, where she over saw the day-to-day operations of our locations as well as Human Resources and Employee Training, along with dotted line responsibility to all areas of the company. In 2016 Kay was named one of Auto Remarketing’s Woman of Remarketing. Effective January 1, 2017 Kay moved from role of Chief Operating Officer for CARS, to Managing Director of International Vehicles Services, LLC. (A CARS Recon company) that has expanded into the UK with auction operations. In 2018 Kay assumed the US operations as well as the UK operations, and continues to work with auctions on both sides of the pond. Kay’s  role with NAAA Safety Committee has given her the ability to consult with UK Auctions on safety practices. She has recently been asked by NAMA and VRA, in the UK, to consult with auction sites throughout the UK and Europe on safety.
